RHB Bank Singapore has successfully extended their sponsorship of the RHB Singapore Cup, making them title sponsor of the Cup for another three years. The partnership with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) was formalized at a signing ceremony held at Equinox Restaurant & Bar Complex, Swissotel The Stamford on Friday, 11 April 2008. The event was witnessed by participating clubs, players, friends from the football fraternity, FAS partners’, RHB Bank invited customers and staff.
RHB Bank has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with the FAS over the past three years, giving RHB Bank local and regional publicity in terms of brand exposure, brand association and connection with their customers, in addition to supporting one of the most popular sports in the region.
Commenting on their sustained partnership with FAS, RHB Bank Berhad Country Head Mr Lim Hun Joo says: “We will continue to encourage sporting efforts in Singapore and the region, and football in particular. Our partnership with the Football Association of Singapore has been of benefit to the bank, the sport of football in the region, and to all sporting fans in general. FAS President, Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee says: “We are happy to have RHB Bank on board for another three years. Their support is crucial in helping us drive forward and has helped make the RHB Singapore Cup one of the region’s premier cup competitions. This is a key platform to help local football flourish and we are hoping more would come forward to give their support.”

A total of 16 teams, including four invitational teams from around the region, will participate in the upcoming RHB Singapore Cup tournament, kicking off on 6 May 2008. Teams from Brunei, Cambodia and Thailand are expected to be invited to take part in the tournament.
