In July 2007, RHB Bank Berhad Singapore won the Silver Award (Sports Business) and Bronze Award (Sports Partner) category in the Sporting Singapore Inspiration Awards (SSIA).
The Sports Partner category recognizes companies and organisations that have contributed services towards the promotion of sports while the Sports Business category is meant to recognize sponsors that have helped in the development of the sports industry.
The Gold Award for Sports Partner went to National Parks Board while the Gold Award for Sports Business went to HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. RHB Bank is the only bank, and one of only two organisations, the other being insurers NTUC Income, to win awards in two different categories this year.
The Awards are given out annually by the Singapore Sports Council in recognition of the selfless, unflagging efforts and commitment by individuals and organisations towards a Sporting Singapore.
RHB Bank has built a strong corporate reputation and brand presence through its sponsorship of the signature RHB Bank Singapore Cup and other efforts to promote sports within the bank.
Beyond sponsoring the Singapore Cup, RHB Bank supports the development of football organisations and mass activities such as the National Football Academy, women’s football, grassroots football and children’s football clinics. Collectively with our staff involvement, these programmes have helped to nurture and add vibrancy to Singapore’s sports industry.
Last year, the Bank’s five mass events reached out to 23,500 participants. One of the most successful was Football Festival 2006 at Ngee Ann City, which drew 3,000 people from all walks of life to experience the excitement of football in the heart of town.
These milestones have helped RHB Bank to build a strong corporate reputation and brand presence through its commitment to service excellence and the sponsorship of the RHB Singapore Cup.
